Quite the debut: Agyemang scores five in season opener for Crosby boys soccer

Crosby boys soccer senior Bright Agyemang certainly started out his final high school season in strong fashion on Tuesday at Jimmy Lee Stadium.

Agyemang played a role in seven of his team’s goals in a dominating 9-1 victory over Ansonia. Agyemang scored five goals and tallied two assists in the victory. He is no stranger to goal scoring, having poured in 21 in just 10 games in the pandemic-shortened 2020 season. Agyemang scored five in a game last year, and he did it again Tuesday.

Agyemang was named to the Class L all-state team by the Connecticut High School Coaches Association in 2020. He was a member of the NVL All-Brass Division team, and would have been All-NVL if those teams had been chosen. Agyemang is already off to another all-state and all-league start in 2021, and it will be fun to see what he does in a full season.
