Clingan receives his 18th Division I scholarship offer

Another Big Ten team came calling with a scholarship offer for Bristol Central 7-foot-1 junior star Donovan Clingan on Tuesday.

The University of Michigan became the 18th school to offer Clingan. The Wolverines are the sixth team from the Big Ten to offer the big Ram behind Iowa, Rutgers, Maryland, Michigan State and Ohio State. Syracuse was the first school to extend an offer to Clingan, and the ACC is second to only the Big Ten in offers with five (the others are Boston College, Notre Dame, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest). There are three offers from Big East teams, including UConn, Providence and Georgetown.

Clingan is averaging 36 points, 14.5 rebounds and 3.5 blocks per game. Central is scheduled to host Southington this evening at 6:45.
