Kalosky throws five TDs in Endicott win over Framingham State

Endicott College football senior captain Joe Kalosky wasted no time making an impact with his right arm in the season opener against Framingham State on Friday night.

Kalosky threw two touchdown passes in the first quarter alone and finished with five total in a 55-27 Gulls victory over the Rams at Hempstead Stadium in Beverly, Mass. Kalosky was 21-for-28 for 374 yards, five touchdowns and zero interceptions. The former Holy Cross High School signal-caller tied his career-high with the five scoring passes.

Kalosky got Endicott on the board with a 44-yard touchdown pass to Zach DeNike just 1:53 into the game. Kalosky hit Justin McEwen with a 34-yard scoring strike at the 7:21 mark of the first quarter for a 14-0 lead.

Endicott was ahead by eight points when Kalosky connected for his third touchdown pass. Kalosky and Riley Shanley hooked up for a 10-yard touchdown pass, and the extra point from Nick DiCairano made the score 28-13 with 13:09 left in the second quarter.

Framingham State scored the next two touchdowns to pull to within 28-27 with 9:41 left in the third quarter. Kalosky had an answer with a seven-yard scoring strike to Shea McManaway at the 8:01 mark of the third quarter. Kalosky’s final touchdown of the game went to McEwen for 20 yards, and the DiCairano extra point put the Gulls ahead 42-27 with 46 seconds left in the third quarter.

Kalosky’s longest completion of the day went for 68 yards to McEwen. He completed his first six passes of the game for 116 yards, including two touchdowns. After throwing his first incompletion, Kalosky connected on four of his next five attempts for 69 yards and another touchdown. He completed 14 of his 18 first-half passes for 242 yards and the three touchdowns.
