Poirot is perfect for St. Paul softball

Abby Poirot threw a five-inning perfect game for St. Paul softball in its 28-0 home win over Ansonia on Tuesday. The game was the season opener for the Falcons.

Poirot struck out 10 for St. Paul. Jess Persechino was solid on defense and led the offense with four hits in four at bats. McKenzie Gauthier was a perfect 3-for-3 for the Falcons.

Poirot followed in the footsteps of former Falcon hurler Alessandra Milardo when she earned a Connecticut High School Coaches Association Class S All-State nod in 2018. Milardo was named all-state by the CHSCA in 2017.

Poirot helped St. Paul to a 17-3 regular season, which included a win over then top-ranked Seymour. On Tuesday, Poirot and the Falcons got off to a perfect start.
