Good day for Bristol Central boys at Wickham Invitational

Bristol Central boys cross country held its own against teams inside and outside of Connecticut at the 35th Wickham Invitational on Saturday at Wickham Park in Manchester.

The Rams finished seventh overall as a team in the boys championship race, led by sophomore Nate Deangelo, who placed 15th overall. Deangelo was followed by Pacifico Flores in 25th, Mark Petrosky in 26th, Devin Flores in 35th, and Jose Ramirez in 52nd.

Kennedy junior Alexander Brites placed 19th overall in the boys seeded race. Wolcott sophomore Nick Bendsten took seventh overall in the boys unseeded race.

Wolcott junior Kathryn Rodrigues finished third overall in the girls unseeded race. Bristol Eastern sophomore Avery Braccia took 19th place in the same race, and the Lancers finished 11th as a team.

In the girls freshman race, Wolcott’s Veranika Hyrn finished sixth overall.
