Petteway, NW Florida State lose to South Plains in NJCAA third place game

Northwest Florida State College’s terrific season came to a tough end over the past two nights in the NJCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship in Hutchinson, Kansas.
After losing to Hutchinson in a semifinal game on Friday, the Raiders were blitzed by South Plains 103-75 in the third place game on Saturday night in Hutchinson Sports Arena.
It was the final NW Florida State game for Petteway, who was in his sophomore season at the two-year junior college.
Petteway played 20 minutes, scored four points and grabbed four rebounds. He shot 1-of-5 from the floor and 2-of-2 at the foul line. Petteway had one block, one steal, two turnovers and three personal fouls.
The Raiders finished the season with a record of 29-5. Petteway started all 34 games and played 23.4 minutes per contest. His final averages were 8.9 points, 6.9 rebounds, 1.1 steals and 0.7 blocks.
