For starters…
Crosby needed a win in the worst way, and the Bulldogs got it in a 68-14 demolition of the Wilby Wildcats. Crosby improved to 2-4 with the win.
Mike Marshall led the passing attack, completing 13-of-17 attempts for 165 yards and two touchdowns. Jaedon Wolfe led in receptions with five and yards with 100. Kenny Petteway caught four passes for 46 yards and a touchdown while Eli Mbaya hauled in two for 22 yards and a score. Seven different Bulldogs caught a pass, and backup Alberim Klenja even got some work. Klenja completed 4-of-6 passes for 71 yards.
Eight different Bulldogs ran the ball, and five of them scored at least one touchdown. Klenja had two touchdowns. Marshall, Donte Detanto, Edgard Rivera and Raecuan Digsby each had one touchdown. Digsby had the most yards with 80.
On defense, Petteway returned a fumble 76 yards for a touchdown. Alloe Thomas led the way with five tackles, and Shemar Henry had a sack.
Urbanski’s big night for Wolcott
Steve Urbanski caught seven passes for 133 yards in a 46-14 Wolcott win at Woodland Regional, and four of those grabs turned into touchdowns. Urbanski tallied touchdowns of 43, 18, 32 and 21 yards.
Polzella was good again
Mike Polzella completed 13-of-17 attempts for 197 yards and four touchdowns.
And how’s this for balance…
Wolcott had 197 yards passing and 196 yards rushing. Now that’s balance.
Two bright spots for St. Paul in blowout loss
The Falcons were overmatched in a 42-6 defeat to the Ansonia Chargers, but there were two good things.
Damien Rabis broke off the longest run of the game, 58 yards, and finished with 102 on nine carries. Connor Bogdanski ran eight times for 23 yards and had the lone St. Paul touchdown.
There will be better days for the Falcons.
