BASKETBALL: Locals have stood out at Greater Hartford Pro-Am

The always popular Greater Hartford Pro-Am Basketball Showcase has been going strong for the past month at the Sports and Medical Sciences Academy in Hartford.
Several locals have stood out during the showcase.

James. James, who played in the National Basketball League of Canada,
tallied 31 points, 14 rebounds and an assist in a 110-103 win for the
Atty. Ron Johnson Hoop Wave over Cambyland on July 27.
On July 20, James posted 36 points and six rebounds in a 121-87 win over Atty. Deron Freeman.
On July 16, James tallied 25 points and 12 rebounds in a 126-117 loss for the Atty. Ron Johnson Hoop Wave against the Top Dogs. Tyshon Rogers, a former Crosby High School standout, dropped in 31 points and grabbed five rebounds in a 100-97 victory for his Harte Nissan team over Cambyland on July 18. Rogers competed for Paris Junior College in Texas this past collegiate season.
Dale Saunders, another Waterbury standout (Kaynor Tech), put in 25 points and 15 rebounds for the Simoniz Top Dogs in a 108-104 win over the Def Jam Hot937ers on July 18.
Former Crosby standout Damian Saunders has also played in the Pro-Am. Former Wilby star Ryan Gomes has entered teams in the Pro-Am, and others like B.J. Monteiro (Crosby) have shown what they can do.
The final games of the Pro-Am for this summer are tomorrow (Sunday) and Monday. Check out the Pro-Am website here.
