also made program history.
Woodfield, a Kaynor Tech graduate, was named Great Northeast Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year, according to a post on the tennis team’s website. He’s the first in program history to do so. In addition to top rookie accolades, Woodfield was also named to the league’s second team.
Woodfield went 8-3 as the No. 5 singles player for the Falcons. He earned Rookie of the Week honors three different times. Woodfield’s eight singles wins were the most on the team, and he also led Albertus Magnus with 15 total wins. Woodfield played on the No. 3 doubles team. Six of his seven wins in doubles were with Ahmed Abdulateef, who was named to the league’s sportsmanship team.
Woodfield was part of a team that posted the second-most wins in program history (7-4). This guy still has three years of eligibility left, so look out!
