St. Paul baseball walks off against Wolcott

In what was one of the top games of the day, the St. Paul and Wolcott baseball teams battled at St. Paul Catholic High School on a sunny Tuesday afternoon.
The Falcons and Eagles needed extra innings, but the home side ended it quickly in the bottom of the eighth inning. Andrew Owsianko tripled to open the inning, then Mike Dombrowski singled him home for a 6-5 walkoff win.
St. Paul improved to 12-3 while Wolcott dropped to 9-6.
The Falcons got four big innings in relief from freshman Dylan Gagnon. Gagnon threw four scoreless frames up for St. Paul, which was able to push across the tying run in the bottom of the fifth inning.
The Falcons were coming off of a rough 5-4 loss on the road at Ansonia on Monday night. In contrast, the Eagles made it out of Watertown with a great 1-0 win over the Indians.
For Wolcott, Steve Urbanski, Nick Longo and Jacob Ramos had two hits each. Ray Bartoli had two RBI while Urbanski, Matt Warren and Nate Murphy added one RBI each.
