Forget being satisfied with one eight inning win. The Wolcott baseball team went ahead and made it two in a row Wednesday.

The No. 13 Eagles went on the road and upended No. 4 Rocky Hill, 3-2, in eight innings. The reward for Wolcott is a Saturday Class M quarterfinal rematch with No. 5 Northwestern on the road, weather permitting. The Highlanders knocked the Eagles out of the 2022 Class M tournament, 14-3, in the second round.

It was a big Joe and a pair of Nates who led the way for Wolcott. First, Joe Ferrucci fired seven strong innings of six-hit ball with four strikeouts. In the top of the eighth inning, Nate Northrop homered to give the Eagles a 3-2 lead. In the bottom of the eighth, Nate Yachtis fired a 1-2-3 inning to clinch the victory.
