St. Paul hosts Wolcott in not one but two postseason games today

If you are a fan of St. Paul and Wolcott, you can get two postseason games at the same time today in Bristol.

Even better, the fields where the two games are being played are next to each other, so you can go back and forth between them. The Falcons will be hosting the Eagles on the baseball diamond and the lacrosse field. Second-seeded St. Paul baseball takes on seventh-seeded Wolcott in the NVL tournament in what is the third meeting between the NVL Iron Division foes. In girls lacrosse, the Falcons entertain the Eagles for the second time in three days in a Western Connecticut Lacrosse Conference semifinal game. Both contests begin at 4:30 p.m.

St. Paul swept Wolcott in baseball by scores of 18-7 and 10-0. This isn’t the first time the Falcons and Eagles have met in the NVL baseball tournament. In 2016, Wolcott upended St. Paul on the road in a quarterfinal round matchup. In 2018, the Falcons beat the Eagles in the semifinal round on their way to a runner-up finish (they lost to Holy Cross). In 2019, Wolcott took down St. Paul in the semifinal on its way to a tournament title (they beat Holy Cross).

The Wolcott girls lacrosse team is coming off a 14-13 home win over St. Paul on Saturday. When the teams met for the first time this season on May 8 in Bristol, the Falcons took a 13-11 victory.
