Wolcott senior Nick Bendtsen got a chance to compete against some terrific runners from Connecticut and New York on Saturday.
Bendtsen took part in the Northeast High School Club Cross Country Championships at Twin Ponds on the Farm in Montgomery, N.Y. He ran in the boys championship 5K race, where he took third in 15:27.
Bristol Central senior Nate Deangelo took 19th place in the same race in 16:15.
In the girls unseeded 5K, Bristol Central senior Natalia Popielarz finished sixth in 19:55. Fellow senior Isabella Crandall was 30th in 22:17.4. In the boys unseeded one 5K, Central sophomore Francis Porrini III finished third in 16:43.4.
