WOLCOTT’S WEEKLY ROUNDUP #5: NVL championships up next for Eagle indoor track and field

Wolcott indoor track and field didn’t have a meet this week, but there’s a big one coming on Monday.
The Eagles head to the Floyd Little Athletic Center in New Haven for the NVL Indoor Track and Field Championships. The meet begins at 4 p.m.
BOYS
Wolcott 49, Woodland 45: The Eagles held off the Hawks at home for a win on Wednesday.
Pat Drewry (16 points) was the lone player in double figures for Wolcott, but three others — Mike Tessarzik, Bob White and Jack Drewry — all had six or more points in a balanced effort.
St. Paul 59, Wolcott 33: It was a tough night for the Eagles on the road Friday against the Falcons.
Wolcott couldn’t get the offense going and was overwhelmed by St. Paul. Pat Drewry again led the Eagles in scoring, though he had just seven points.
Wolcott is 4-8 and has eight games left in the regular season. The Eagles play Waterbury Career Academy, Torrington and Watertown this week.
