The Rochester, N.H., American Legion team can swing the bat, and Bristol Post 2 found that out the hard way in a Northeast Regional elimination game at Muzzy Field on Friday afternoon.

Rochester pounded out 19 hits against three Bristol pitchers in a 14-4 win that was shortened to eight innings by the mercy rule. Post 2 see its run at the Regional, and its season, end with a record of 23-14. That record includes non-zone games during the regular season, along with the state tournament.
Bristol answered Rochester’s first two runs with two of its own in the bottom of the first inning. Post 2 scored two runs in the third inning, but no more after that.
Rochester, on the other hand, scored in every inning but the seventh.
Wes Lahey pitched the first three innings and took the loss. He was followed by Troy Micale (four innings) and Richard Lemke (one inning).

The Bristol offense was led by Cory Fradette, who had two hits — including a double — to go along with a RBI. Zach Marquis had two hits, a walk and two runs scored while Chadd Richardson compiled two hits — including a double — to go with a RBI and a run scored. Lemke also had a hit and a RBI. Ben Mazzone doubled and scored a run.
